If you have a Willys Truck 1962 then you would have a Dana 53 rear end. This is the proper one for you.

Questions: I have a '47 CJ2A with a Dana 41 Axle (Semi-Floating) and noticed in the Parts List manual it does not mention that I need this Pinion Shaft Oil Seal. Yet on this webpage it says it is for the Dana 41. I can not find this Pinion Shaft Oil Seal anywhere in the diagram. It just shows that I will need just a gasket, part No. 636565. Please help, thank you.

You definitely need a pinion shaft oil seal. This part number is required.

Yes these are the proper pinion shaft oil seals for the original dust covers as well.

The spring loaded side of the seal goes towards the ring & pinion.
