I bought this for my 1967 CJ5 to replace an OEM switch that failed. The indicators on the switch do not flash when the left or right signals are activated. Do I need to do anything special to get the indicators to flash? Also, I suppose I need to splice into the appropriate wire to wire the left and right indicators on the speedometer to flash when the switch is activated.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
I would make sure your flasher you have wired in is still working and possibly replace it. And check how you have wired.

I have an original turn signal switch which I think still functions, but it only has 5 wires. Do think wires are missing for rear signal lights and can I still use this and adjust the wiring for rear signal lights.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Tough to say for sure. Send us some photos of what you have there.

1955 CJ5 Will this switch operate the single turn indicator light in instrument cluster. If so is there anything else i would need ?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, you should be able to wire it up to the indicators as well.

I've installed this unit, but after much trial and error, I am continually blowing the fuse. I've got a 61 CJ5 with a one wire aftermarket alternator. Is there anything specific that I should be different since the electric no longer runs on a generator system?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
This shouldnt be effected by a alternator v. generator. Please email mike@kaiserwillys.com and we can try to help. Please double check your wiring on our diagrams.

Do you have a wiring diagram for this? We bought this a while ago, and the other shop lost all the instructions. I appreciate any help as we are getting so close to get this thing finished. ~P.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Please check on the item itself on our page. We have links to both the diagrams. Or I can email them to you separate too if you like. Email mike@kaiserwillys.com

What is the correct amp fuse for a six volt application?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Per install instructions 10 amp.

What would I need to do to order the 6 volt version of this TURN SIGNAL SWITCH KIT ? Thanks,

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
This works on 6 or 12 volt. You just need the appropriate volt flasher.

What is the correct flasher to use with this assembly? The drawing shows one with 2 terminals, I purchased one that has 3 terminals.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
You only need a terminal flasher. The third terminal on the flasher we sell is for an indicator light option that could be on your turn signal / steering column itself. Thanks

What is the difference between this speedometer and part number 640131-WO3?

Willys Tech:
One has an tripometer and the other does not.

Will this work if my Willys M38A1 has a 24v system?

Willys Tech:
This is for 12 or 6 volt only. The 24 volt version is part number: 947345

Is this a self canceling unit?

Willys Tech:
No, these are not self cancelling.

description says built in flasher, but diagram shows external flasher, does it need external flasher?

Willys Tech:
It is built to accept a flasher. You have to use a flasher when wiring it up.

When using a 947348 turn signal and a new wiring harness from you do I use the front parking lites or a seperate front pair of lites? Also when ordering is it a given that I've converted to 12 volt and need only one wire from alternator? Will be ordering harness soon.

Willys Tech:
Typically you can wire in the turn signals on your existing assemblies. If you have an aftermarket alternator you will just need to change the connection out and wire it in.

1. Is it weatherproof? 2. The ad says built-in flasher but the the wiring diagram shows separate flasher.

Willys Tech:
They are weather resistant. Like anything electrical its best to keep dry. It has the built in on/off for a flasher function. The flasher itself must be wired in separate.

Turn signals were they standard equipment on a 1943 GPW, or are they added later to conform to today's jeeps?

Willys Tech:
They were never used on the military origianally.

I purchased this item a few months ago. The instructions were included but I managed to spill fluid on them. Could you send me a print out or a PDF of the instructions as all I need is to figure out the series between the flasher and bulbs.

Willys Tech:
Scroll up on the item description of this item: Helpful Guides and Illustrations. The full instructions are there.

I purchase this flasher how do I know if I have the optional flasher?

Willys Tech:
You will need a flasher with this. We do carry them as well. Part number: 938899 or 118699 depending if your 6 or 12 volt.

Does this switch provide any visual reference (light) if the flashers/turn signal is on?

Willys Tech:
Yes it does.

will this switch work with a 6 volt positive ground system?

Willys Tech:
Yes that is correct.

what gauge wire is this sold with?

Willys Tech:
I think 12 or 14 but am not 100%

I ordered this switch from you and also the LED tail lights will the 12 volt flasher you sell work on the LED tail lights or do I need a different one, if so what is the part number and do you sell them? Thanks, Harry

Willys Tech:
Yes the 12 volt flasher will work with this just fine as well as the turn signal.

I am ordering the complete wire harness for 1957 FC-150. I assume this switch is compatible.

Willys Tech:
Yes that is correct.

Do you just pull the red nob out to start the flashers? How do you cut them off? Thanks, Harry

Willys Tech:
Yes it is just a push/pull on/off switch.

THE TURN SIGNALS I BOUGHT FROM YOU WORK FINE BUT THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS QUIT WORKING ALMOST AS SOON AS THEY WERE INSTALLED. SOLUTION?

Willys Tech:
I would double check your flasher. Sounds like it went out.

Is this switch self cancelling ? does itt have the little rubber wheel that makes contact with the bottom of the steering wheel hub and rotates to cancell the signal after you turn ?

Willys Tech:
These are not self cancelling.

Do you have this turn signal switch kit in black color?

Willys Tech:
No only chrome. But you can paint it.

Is this self canceling? The old one I have has a rubber wheel that turns when you turn the steering wheel and turns off the signal after the turn.

Willys Tech:
This is a manual cancelling turn signal.

Where can i see if my 1946 jeep is either a 6 or 12 volt

Willys Tech:
Check your coil and voltage regulator. They are the best way or just your battery.
