Is there supposed to be a cap or seal for the front of the transfer case intermediate shaft?

No, it was just held in place with a lock tab originally.

The bearings that come with kit # A998k. Are they caged roller bearings as showed in the 2020 catalog? Or do I expect to have a surprise?
