will this work with a 1974 CJ5?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes it would work.

Is there a fuel gauge replacement for this speedometer?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
8126919 is what you are referring to.

will this work in a 1976 cj5 base model?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, that is correct.

I have an original speedometer for a 58 CJ3B that is registered in mph up to 90. (The larger 5" version). I'd like to keep this gauge for the vintage look, if it all possible but have a few questions to be answered. First, my understanding is the fuel and temp gauges are originally 6 volt, so they will not work if I transfer to a 12 volt system. If this is true, how might I go about replacing the fuel and temp gauges that reside inside the speedometer housing to account for this? After taking it apart, can the fuel and temp gauges from inside the speedometer and the bulbs be replaced to keep the same original look but with 12v adaptation? Also, on the speedometer needle itself; mine seems to be missing a piece and is not turning when the mechanism is turning in the back. It is disconnected on near the spring side and I cant seem to find and diagrams or reference material on the unit. I have it taken apart on the bench and looking for options. Does anybody carry parts or overhaul these original speedometers? They have a great look to them that I'd like to keep with the jeep if at all possible. Thanks! -Luke

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
914845 is for 12 volt systems. Email mike@Kaiserwillys.com and we can recommend a gauge rebuilder if you like, it can be a bit expensive though to restore one.

Does this speedometer work on a 6 volt system?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:

I have a 62 CJ3B. What temperature sending unit and oil switch works with 914845 speedometer cluster. Temp units listed have two different styles of speedometer clusters that are specific to sending unit. Thanks

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
914847 for temp sender, 938092 for oil.

Is it possible to roll this speedometer forward so it reads the mileage on the original speedo? I know tat theoretically drops the value, but my mileage is already low and I am not worried about it.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Not sure if you could do it from inside the unit, but the alternative method would be to hook up the speedometer cable and then use a drill on the other end and go until you get to that mileage.

Will this work in a 1958 jeep fc170 with a 22 gallon tank

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, as long as you have the 5.5" opening and are 12volt.

I have a 1957 FC-150 in 12 volt. I also have an aftermarket fuel tank in the bed. I want to add a sending unit to this tank. Do you know what the ohms range is for the fuel gage in this speedo cluster? I want to get a sender that matches up.

Hi I just installed this gauge in my 68 CJ 5 with the v6. Everything works, but the speedometer is off by quite a bit. It doesn't move up from zero until my GPS says I'm going 20mph. When it says I'm going 10 mph I'm actually going about 30 mph. Does it require a different gear in transfer case? It worked fine with the old speedo before the gauge died? Did I not install it properly? Thanks!

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Please email mike@kaiserwillys.com. Do you have the original size tires and rims on there?

(914845) Does this unit have the built in voltage regulator, or are the gauges 12V connecting directly to the sender?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
This is a resistance reader only. You wire direct to gauge.
