What are the ohms on this sending unit?

My 134F head has a stand alone mechanical temp guage, but also has a temp guage in the speedometer cluster. I would like to have both guages operational. Do you have a proper sized Tee to accomodate both switch and mechanical sender or is there an alternative location on the head to place the second sending unit?

Does this work with the gauge 914845? If not, do you sell the sending unit that does?

Yes that should work for that gauge.

The Jeep I picked up has a sensor on the side of the block to read the temperature gauge in the dash. There is another one in the front of the block set up to relay an electric fan on and off. Assuming nothing has been retapped would this fit that location as well and work with the fan?

I plan to do a 6V to 12V conversion on a 51 Wagon and use the original gauges. If I have a 12V to 6V reducer behind my gauges to feed them the proper voltage, would I need this sending unit or the 6V sending unit?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
My suggestion would be to get the 12 volt. If it does not work with the bushing, you would simply remove it. But that way you would have it if you ever did away with the reducers.

I replaced my small King Seely gauges with a 2" temp gauge to see it better on a 1960 DJ-3A with the L head engine. Now it constantly reads hot (240) dispite having a new 160 thermostat in it. As soon as I turn the ignition on the temp gauge reads 130 without the engine running. Could the old sensor be wrong for the gauge and would this sensor be more compatible with the new gauge ?

I would check your wiring and confirm a good ground.

I ordered 914847 for a 1955 Truck and at 160F measured at the block, the temp gauge reads too high. Looking at the back of the gauges the PO used sealant to mounts them so obviously not original. The sending unit I have has 12V 0202 and 334-F on it. What would I choose for the right sending unit? It appears the sender is a Stewart Warner from the number, but I believe this will be a 90-10 ohm instead of 90 to 0 ohm.

This would probably work as is but you may have to source an adapter bushing.

Will this work in a V6 225 Buick Dauntless engine for the 1971 cj5?

It is for the 4-134 6-161 and 6-226 motors. You could probably use on the V6225 with an adapter.

will this work for a 230 OHC engine ?

I have not put one in a 6-230 but it should work if you can get a fitting to adapt.

On another customer post for part number 905926 they asked if part number 905926 would work on his 6-226 engine. The answer was to use part number 914847. But this part (914847) states it is only for engines 4-134. I have a 6-226 12Vdc. Should I use 914847 too?

914847 will work for both 4-134 motor and the 6-226 motor.

on willys pickup can not get water temp gauge to work, at some point the gauge cluster was replaced with new, and truck was converted to 12 volt. i replaced temp sender with 12 volt model, grounded engine to frame, checked sending wire, when you turn key on temp gauge goes to left off cold mark. fuel gauge does work, on red jumper wire reads 12 volt and sending wire term reads 5volt, should i still be using the small silver relay box for power to I term on fuel gauge. any help would be great

I purchased this for my CJ5 f134, it seams the new sensor does not thread into the cylinder head and the old threaded spacer ring is ceased to the old sensor. Do I need a different part or will the new sensor fit in the old ring once removed?

I have a 24 Volt, 1954 M38a1. Do you have a temp sending unit for 24v?
