Make sure to pack your bearings with heavy duty axle grease. There is no real way to keep them separate.

Questions: I noticed the king pin bearing caps do not use a gasket in the install video. How do you keep the 90 weight oil from leaking out?

We use a thin layer of silicone or sealant at the base.

The steering knuckle is supposed to have grade 0, Grease. The only manufacture I have found for this is John Deere, it's called "Corn Head" grease. It is not supposed to hold 90 weight. 90 weight is too thin! Take a look at the original specifications in the owners manual .

Questions: I'm replacing the king pin bearings on my '64 CJ-5 and found while installing one of the new bering cones that it doesn't need tapped in and it spins instead of being a tight fit. Is that a concern and if so, any suggestions on a fix?

Sounds like your housing itself may be worn. These really should sit stationary in there. You may want to have it looked at and pay special atttention to its shimming.

You can shim either really. You are just trying to set the proper bearing load.

Typically they are timken and newstar.
