Is there a part number for one of these that fits a 1971 cj 5 with the 225 buick engine or is this the only one offered?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
This is the only one offered.

I have a 1971 CJ5 with a 225 V6 buick engine. My crossover tube does not have the tab welded on for the linkage to attach to. My system has a cable that runs from the clutch pedal to the throw out arm. Will this work for me?

Gary Holbrook:
I have been working on Jeeps for 48 years and the 70 & 71 CJs did use a cable that mounted to the clutch pedal arm on the outside of the frame and circled around to a bracket that mounted to the driver side of the transfer case and the internal cable continued forward to the clutch fork. the cross shaft DID NOT have the "stand" welded to the cross shaft since it was not needed and the shafts pivot housing which is riveted to the bottom of the frame had an extended tube toward the inside to fill the gap so the brake pedal would be properly located. This cable system never worked very well as the cable would distort and you would lose travel at the fork. Cut off the extended tube and use the A 497 shaft and go back to the pre '70s clutch linkage system would be my recommendation.
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
I do believe they are a bit different for the V6 set up. But it possibly could be modified to work for your needs.

This shows 3 sets of holes for cotter pins is that true? The A495 shows only 2 sets. Is that true as you have said they are the same on the website. I need a # hole set for a GPW. Thanks

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
There is only 2 holes for cotter pins on these.

How much Weight the Package. Thanks

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
These weight 24 pounds 24x12x8 box size

Will my existing woodruff key fit in this part, or do I need to buy a new one?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, your existing should work.

Is the only diff. between this and the A495 is this one is made in the USA ?

Willys Tech:
Yes, that is correct.
