Are the oil seal for the out put shafts 923896 double sealed?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Unsure what you are asking, please give us a call.

Will this work on pto output shaft

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Different. Please email mike@kaiserwillys.com

On reassembly, what is the torque value on the companion nut?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Please email mike@kaiserwillys.com what vehicle your working on and if doing the front or rear output yoke on the transfer case to help.

does this seal come with the felt, if not what is the number of the felt?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
932295 is the part number for the felt seal.

can you please tell me the outside and inside dimensions of this seal?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
ID 1.515 OD 2.506 like original.

DOES IT MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN WHICH DIRECTION THE SEAL GOES IN

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, the seal is lipped (tapered) so you always want to make sure you put it in so the fluid stays in. Please see our youtube install videos: https://www.youtube.com/user/KaiserWillysJeep

I have also replaced this seal twice. The yoke is defiantly worn, I can see two groves from old seals. Should I replace the whole yoke? Also does it matter how deep the seal is pressed in? Thanks on advance for advice.

Willys Tech:
Yes your yoke will need to be replaced. It happens from many years of use.

Can this seal be replaced without removing the shaft, or do I have to take the transfercase apart? I would like to just take off the yoke, remove the old seal and install the new one. and does the felt go behind the seal or in front behind the yoke?

Willys Tech:
You will have to remove the driveshaft then nut and slide the yoke out to put this in. The felt goes in front of the oil seal.

I have replaced front and rear saels and case gasget, I still have a leak any suggestions what to look at next?

Willys Tech:
I would check the surface on your metal yoke. It may have a groove pattern worn in it.

do I need anything special to remove the old seal(923896). My jeep repair manual calls for seal puller AMC No. W-251

Willys Tech:
A screw driver usually does the trick.

I have replaced the front output seal twice and the oil still just drains out in a matter of days, do you have a suggestion for this problem?

Willys Tech:
Your yoke itself probably has a wear pattern in it. I would grease the seal when installing and check your yoke for wear.

I have replaced this seal twice, and siliconed around the splines, and something is still leaking from the back of the transfer case do you have any idea what I could look for next?

Willys Tech:
Double check your rear output shims. Make sure they are not leaking from there.
