Questions: For som odd reason I have a MZ 4162 starter on my '52 Willys CJ3A. Will the 801167A-12V be the correct replacement starter, or should I use the the hi-torque starter listed for a '52 CJ 3A. What is the difference between the two?
Question By: Hans on Sep 21 2014 12:00 AM
This one or the one for the CJ-3A will work just fine. They are interchange. The MZ-4137 & MZ-4162 interchange with each other.

Questions: My 52 SW has been converted to 12v but has the old 6v starter. I want to convert it to your HT-Starter. I understand that it will not be a mounting issue but since it has a solinoid I assume I no longer can use the floor starter peg. Do I need to change the ignition switch and if so which do you suggest. Is there anywhere that I can get direction on how to complete this conversion ?
Question By: Mark on Jul 27 2012 12:00 AM
Yes this is a starter for a key switch. I would also get part number: 924918 for the ignition switch. This will get you going.
