So, can anyone tell me where wires from the speedometer are connected to this ignition switch? These would be oil pressure light hot leg, fuel gauge hot leg, and AMPS hot leg? Do they all go to the ACC or accessory part of the ignition switch? Thanks for your help!

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
See item description on wiring. Also see part number: 914845 for wiring of speedometer for what sounds like you have a later vehicle.

When using ignition as on/off switch and floor button do u need a selinod?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
You could wire it a number of ways depending on starter motor.

Will this key also work for the glove box? My 62 c-j6 keys are lost and it is locked. I ordered this to rewire it and am hoping it works for the glove box.

What year did they STOP making the floor mounted Starter button? I have a 53 M38A1 with a total ignition switch. Unclear if this is original or some replaced. To that end where do I find that floor mounted push button starter button?

Willys Tech:
That is unoriginal for the M38A1. You are probabaly running 12 volt now. It was off and on thru the years depending on the vehicle.

How do you write it this way without using the spring loaded right turn it turn right one click but doesnt send power to foot starter?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
You could bypass a foot start and wire direct if you wanted to.

My Jeep only has 1 key and I can't find anyone to make me a spare. It is cheap enough to just buy this. My Jeep starts by turning the key all the way to the right and then pushing a push start button. Will this work and is that normal for a 1960/63 CJ3B?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, It has a on position and you can also wire it for a turn start if you desire too. So it will go both ways if you want push start.

I have a 51 truck and it has a push button, what wires go to the button?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
If using this ignition switch you probably wouldn't still use the push button. But the push button I would assume is your IGN.

Hi again - I ordered this switch but it doesn't have a notch to keep it from turning. Mike

I have a '46 CJ 2A 12 volt with voltmeter, no Ammeter. What connects to the Ignition terminal? Coil? Fuel? Alternator yellow wire? Voltmeter?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
The yellow wire on the alternator goes to the ignition switch - to the IGN / as as the coil. Thanks

I read all the Q & A's and didn't see this question come up. Looking at your photos for this switch, I don't see terminal nuts to tighten the wires onto the terminals. You say this is a complete switch. Does it include the terminal nuts?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
It does come with the terminal nuts. They are in a bag separately but are just not pictured. Thanks

Do you have a diagram of this with a D18 Transfer case to see the other parts and connections?

I have a 47 CJ2A. I have the original ignition switch but the key is missing. Currently mine is set up as an on/off switch with a floor starter button. I would like to keep the floor starter if possible. Can i use this switch as only a on off switch?

I want to replace the current floor mount ignition in my cj2a, will this work fine? Also, with this ignition, I am getting the solid state electronic ignition distributor(923068), the 12 volt ignition coil(933160), and the 12 volt voltage regulator(923130). Is this all I need for my 12 volt ignition system? I have a hi torq starter already.

Willys Tech:
A7225 is the starter switch and this ignition switch is going to work just fine. Your generator would have go to 12 volts. We sell ALT12V if you want too.

Willys Tech:
The ign would be off your ignition switch. I believe we do have a schematic for this. Please call us toll free. We can help.

I have a 48 CJ2A. my ignition switch is built into the coil and the whole thing mounts behind the dash. its 6 volt. do you sell the whole assembly or does it come apart?

Willys Tech:
Nobody makes that style anymore. You have to mount your coil on the engine now. We sell both the coil and coil mounting bracket too.

I just purchased a 1953 truck and the key was lost in the estate sale. My ignition switch mounts to a bezel in the dash with a spring and it just presses in and twists into place. I want to keep the original bezel that says starter on it and want to know if this switch will work with this spring or if has to be attached with the retaining nuts provided?

Willys Tech:
You will need to use this complete replacement in its place.

Willys Tech:
It works on either 6 or 12 volt.

What is the diameter of this switch where it would go through the dash?

Willys Tech:
It is approx 3/4 just like original.

does this work with an m38

Willys Tech:
Yes it will work fine if you are running 6 or 12 volt.

I need to replace the starter on a 1951 CJ3A. The current started is an orginal with a mechanical start, whic is missing some parts. I am considering the starter number 641157 (12V). In the distription this start switch is suggested. I recentlyt purchased the Jeep. The jeep has an on/off switch. When I need to start the Jeep I put the switch in the on position and have someone push me. Question, with this switch will it replace this on/off or will this switch be in addition to the on/off

Willys Tech:
Yes this is a complete ignition switch. WIth the original starter they used a mechanical linkage start. Our hi-torque starters do away with this.

Does this switch have 3 positions, OFF-ON-SPRING RETURN ?

Willys Tech:
Yes, that is correct.

I hava a 53 CJ3A. I got it with some missing parts. It doesn't have a starter button on the floor. Will this start the engine without the floor mounted starter button?
