Is your cap diameter an ID measurement?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes it is.

part # iad4008 is the cap marked with the wire/cylinder #'s

Willys Jeep Parts Tech.:
It wouldn't be because depending where your timing is set/rotor it can change.

Can I order the cap only? If so, what is the p/n? Thanks

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, call us toll free.

I have had a problem with the condenser blowing out. I upgraded to a 12-volt system, including a 12V coil, and still seem to have the problem. I have heard a resistor might solve the problem. 1) Is the lack of the resistor the problem? 2) Would I then get a 12V or a 6V resistor. 3) Would a 6V coil and 6V resistor solve the problem? I look forward to your reply. Thanks! ~P.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
You have to have a resistor. Either your coil has it built in or you would have one wired in-between the ignition switch and coil if it doesnt.

Do you carry the dust cover for the IAD 4008 or know where can find one?

Is this a 6 or 12 volt condenser

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
They work on both 6 and 12 volt.

Do you have what I believe is a resister. It is mounted on the firewall. The distributor wire is attached to one side and the coil is attached to the other side. I know I need it because without it,it fries the points.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Take an image of and email mike@kaiserwillys.com so we can see what all you are working on there.

Where is the distributor ID plate?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
There should be a plate on the distributor itself. Right under the cap. Thanks

There should be a metal tag on the distributor. Sometimes they can be hard to see.
