I purchased the -03 wiring harness for my 47 CJ2A last year and was wondering if there was a light cover for the dash light, if so why was it not in the kit? What part number light cover do I need?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
These harnesses are sold under the assumption that you have your current dash hood intact. 640284 is our part number if you need the assembly.

I'm re-wiring my 1953 3A. The part of the harness for the right side of the dash has a black wire with a single white tracer. This wire is not shown in the wiring instructions. Also, my Willys has an alternator, does the 12 gauge red wire with 2 white tracers (#9 on the right side of the harness) now go to the + side of the battery since there is no long a voltage regulator?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Please email jason@kaiserwillys.com and we can go over any wiring questions. Happy to help.

Do you offer this harness in vinyl covered instead of cloth covered?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
These still have the plastic coating and then are cloth covered to give the period correct look.

I have a 53 CJ3A. It has been converted to 12 volts. The floor starter has been been replaced with a key start. It also has signals. Will this harness work with the key start?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, you would just wire in an external solenoid.

Will the 03 wiring harness work whether the ignition switch is on the right or left hand side of the gauges on the dash?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
There should be enough length to make that happen.

Good morning, could I please trouble you for the instructions of wiring a 1947 CJ2A Willy’s Jeep. I purchased the wiring hardness from uguys. Thank You

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Email mike@kaiserwillys.com to help out.

Horn on Fender with this wire harness

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
We custom made them to original spec and have about 3-4 questions for you depending on vehicle.

Does the wiring harness-03 make provision for the floor mounted starter switch?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, that is what was originally used.

Hi... trust all is well. Need to confirm wiring will work on 12volt system? I understand it is made close to original spec just want to make sure. Next question do you sell a current fuse block instead of the older bus style? Thanks in advance

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, it works for both 6 and 12 volt systems. A fuse block you would pick up locally. They never originally used.

wondering if the new wiring harness -03 has the connections for the wiring conversion for 12volts.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Email mike@kaiserwillys.com we can help you. These are made to the original spec but wiring up to 12 volt usually only involved the alternator.

I have a harness that was previously purchased from you folks by a friend that asked me to help him install it but in your description it says there are wire by wire instructions and he does not have them could I get those emailed to me by chance. I have a lot of it figured out. but I also think he may have lost a couple of the wiring looms because I have no wire set to go to the front turn signals that I can find. Instructions as to which colors go where etc. would be super helpful.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
No problem, we can email it over to you. Email mike@kaiserwillys.com to help.

You say there is no wiring diagram or video to show how to install the harness. I could e mail you for help? Is there a fee for your help?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
I can help with a diagram. Email mike@kaiserwillys.com

is there a wiring diagram for the harness-03

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Please email mike@Kaiserwillys.com and we can try to help out.

With these complete wiring harnesses do you have to add another connection block on the drivers fender well for the turn signal connection?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
It comes with all the wiring. 638977 is the part number for the junction itself.

I am looking for the cable from the starter switch on a 1946 CJ2A, to the ignition switch, no solenoid setup. I found all the battery cables, but not this particular cable. Can you verify if this wiring kit contains this particular wire, and if so what gauge is it as I assume it is not 1 gauge like the battery cables. Very Respectfully,

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, the harness will include the wire from the ignition switch to the foot mounted starter switch.

is the wiring harness for a 1948 CJ-2A 12 volt?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
The harness itself is for both 12 and 6 volt.

Do you have a video or something that will help installing the wiring harness?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
A video no, but if you have any specific questions please feel free to email mike@kaiserwillys.com and we can help.

Hi We are just starting to restore the electrical system on our 1948 CJ-2A. What are the pros and cons of upgrading to a 12 volt system? To an alternator? Now is the time to make these decisions before buying the wiring harness yes?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
The harnesses are made like factory original, so if you go to an alternator then you would just have to change a few wires. 12 volt will typically get you faster starting than 6 volt. You can email mike@kaiserwillys.com or give us a call. Ask for Mike M. Happy to help out.

I have a 1947 CJ2A with F134 engine will this wiring harness work with this? Thank you

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, this would, you may have to change out a few end connections but even on that it would be minor.

I have a 1949 CJ3A with the F-134 engine in it. I have switched to a 12 volt system with an alternator. Will the CJ3A harness work with the F-134 engine or will it need to be customized?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
They would be the same for the most part. You would just have to wire in your alternator per that unit.

I understand that this is made like factory, cloth coating, but under the cloth coating are these plastic covered wires? I want the classic look, but also really want the protection and durability of the plastic.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
I cut open one of tthe cloth wires and it does have coating around the inner core to insulate from cloth itself.

except for turning signal wiring are there any major differences between Willys MB and CJ2A wiring harnesses? I've installed turning signals on my MB and I guess it'll be better if I use the harness where they're already included by you.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
There are differences in wire lengths and end connections. They are different harnesses.

Is it possible to get the covers only without the foam or seat plywood pan.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
We can do this. Call toll free and ask for Mike M.

Hello, I’m in the UK and have a 1949 cj2a, can you tell me your shipping says free over 98 dollars, does this include the UK , many thanks, Chris

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Sorry, that is for the 48 states only. Please email mike@kaiserwillys.com your full shipping address and we can quote you out.

I had ordered and already received this harness. I have changed my mind and now do not want to go with the turn signal feature. How big of a deal is it to alter this harness so that it will work without the turn signal feature. Is it just a matter of not connecting a couple wires?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
You can just tape off the wiring for it and not use. It wont effect anything. Its wound into the main loom.

Did the 1946 cj2 not have a starter solenoid .is their clip that hold the tiail light harness up in the lip

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
They did not use a starter solenoid originally.

i got the wire harness none off the wire mark on it .only color mach and Ga. (even ga. is not mark on it ) very hard for me and my friend ( mechanic) not figure out can you help me out if i can get diagram please

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
We provide a wire for wire diagram with the harnesses. Please email mike@Kaiserwillys.com and I can send you over the information. Thanks!

Do you only offer in the cloth sheathing, or can I get a harness made with the more modern (plastic?) sheathing? Any advantage to one over the other if being "period correct" is not important to me?

DiggityKid:
This are modern wires, plastic coated, but with the factory cloth sheathing over to make it look factory. Best of both worlds.
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
In these Willys years they would be cloth covered only. We make them to factory spec.

Do I "customize" this wiring harness by e-mail or by phone?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
You can call us toll free to order or once you place the order online we will both call and email you to get information. Thanks!

My jeep was changed to 12 volt at some time in the past. Will there be anything I need to alter or adjust in this wiring package to get it to work?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
The harness itself works for both 6 and 12 volt. It is the items it attaches to such as regulator, bulbs, ect that have to be 12 volt.

I have a 47 CJ-2A which does not have turn signals. If I order the harness with the turn signal wiring, can I get a turn signal kit? I assume that there are instructions.

Willys Tech:
Sure, we sell the turn signal kits in black or chrome as well.

Will this come with the hardware included in part number 947348? I get that this comes with the wiring for the turn signals, but I just don't see the turn signal hardware in the pictures.

Willys Tech:
This does not come with the actual turn signal assembly itself. It has the wiring to accept the kit in the loom.

Does the wiring harness come with a fuse box? how does that work?

Willys Tech:
The CJ-2A,3A never used a fuse box. Im sure you could wire one in though.

I need what is called a filter box for my 48 CJ 2A. it is a junction box that connects a lot of stuff including coil, voltage regulator gauges etc. do you sell this? its similar to the headlight junction box.

Willys Tech:
They really didnt use anything like this on a CJ-2A originally. Please call us toll free and we can probabaly help.

is there anything missing from this kit if i wanted to take all the old out and use all new?

Willys Tech:
These are complete wiring harnesses that do the entire vehicle.

Just placed the wiring harness above in my CJ2A (48). Cannot figure out why my my high beam indicator will not work on the dash. Unable to get power to the socket. I attached it to the high beam switch terminal on the floor along with the high beam cable. Also, there are no rear running lights. The rear lights work for braking and turn signals. Any ideas?

Willys Tech:
Please call us toll free. We can go over a few things and hopefully help out.

Does wiring harness come with a fuse block or some sort of circuit board,I dont see one in the picture ?

Willys Tech:
They never originally used fuse blocks. If you wanted something like that you would have to wire it in. They are not original.

how can you tell if the motor is 12 volt or 6 volt maybe even 24 volt ?

Willys Tech:
Take a look at your battery, coil, regulator, ect...they will be stamped.

is it labeled so that someone would know were it goes ? i bought a jeep with no wireing

Willys Tech:
Yes it comes with wire for wire instructions.

do you custom build the wiring harness for a '47 cj-2a that has a Pinto 2.0 engine swap?

Willys Tech:
We custom build them. Please call us toll free. We can probably help.

read that the wiring harness can be custom built for a 12-volt, assume it will have wires to hook up the alternator, etc. Also, I have my front blinkers hooked up to the parking lights, assume the wires will work for that also? thanks. Atwell

Willys Tech:
Sure. All our harnesses are custom made. We can help out on most of this. Please call us toll free. I can go over it with you.

I have a '52 CJ3A with dash board ignition, turn signals, fender mounted horn, and 12 volts. Your harness-03 is what I need correct? Does it(I couldn't tell from the picture)come with ends for headlights and taillights?

Willys Tech:
Yes that is correct. Yes it comes complete.

Do you have harnesses for a 1952 M-38A1 in 12 volt?

Willys Tech:
Yes we custom make them. Please call me toll free. They are this price.

What all do i need to upgrade to a 12-volt system?

Willys Tech:
We have the alternator kit, solid state distributors, hi-torque starter & coil. Please call us toll free. We can help out.

I'm converting the parking lights on the front of my 53 CJ3A to turn signals. Would this wiring harness work for this?

Willys Tech:
Yes this will be wired for it.

If ordered for a 6 volt can it be later converted to 12v without much replacement of wiring?

Willys Tech:
Yes that is correct.

Will this work on a jeep without turn signals? If so how do you hook single tail light into it? Thanks

Willys Tech:
Yes you can just tape off the turn signal wires.

Is this harness 12 volt

Willys Tech:
We custom make them to suite so we can do it in either 6 or 12 volt for you.
