643797 is the part number for speedometer cable. It screws into the fitting on the passenger side of the transfer case. See part number: A1515

Questions: I put this new speedometer and cable on my Jeep and the needle is very slow to climb up to speed and I’m not sure it’s showing the proper speed. It seems to indicate a slower speed than I am cruising. Any suggestions?

I would check the drive and driven gear. The driven gear may be slipping in the transfer case a bit.

If you take a drill motor to the back you can add mileage to it. I think they possibly can be turned by hand too.

Yes, this will fit in the hole in your panel and connect to the speedometer cable as well.

It goes to the passenger side of the transfercase just forward of the emergency brake drum where you screw it in.

It is cable driven part number: 643797. Its gear driven and doesnt have anything to do with the generator.
