What kit will work on a 1957 pick up with original metal fuel tank ? Has two straps under tank.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
I suppose you could lay it under the straps. you would have extra material most likely as spare.

Sir I have the pattern down, but is there a certain distance from the edge of the side of the tank to the strip. I would really appreciate you return. Thank you for what you are doing to help restorers. Tony A WV

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Email mike@kaiserwillys.com we can send you over a drawing of where they go.

how is the gas tank secured in the 1960 cj5..thanks

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
A1472K-5 is the strap that held it down under the drivers seat. It went forward to back.

The kit has 8 strips, 2 each of 4 lengths. The drawing here shows 3 lengths with 2 each on 2 sizes and 3 of a longer size. Do you have a different drawing for the strips actually in the kit?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
They really just line the bottom of the tank. We lay them equal distance from one another. its just trying to create a buffer so your not metal on metal contact.

Are these insulator strips supposed to be glued to the tank or to the floor under the tank?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
I typically use adhesive to the bottom of the tank.

Is there a certain placement of these strips? What areas do they need to cover? Do any go on the hold down clamp on the rear of the tank? Was nor able to see how the straps were placed as the old fuel tank had no welting strips under it.

Willys Jeep parts tech:
We have a diagram we can scan in and email to you. Please email mike@kaiserwillys.com and we can help.

how are these applied to the tank

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
We typically use an automotive adhesive to apply.

What is the difference between this kit and the anti-squeak kit? Do you need both? Is one better recommended over the other?

Willys Tech:
This one is a welt material. The other kit is a felt material. Both are interchangable.

Are these felt or rubber . My old tank rotted out where the felt would hold moisture .

Willys Tech:
They are a water resistant welting. Like original.
