What is the thick ness of the nut inside the cage

I have a CJ-5,1960 model, and i am looking for bolts and nut (square) to put floor access panel (tran, master cyl, and engine acces panels back on...mine was missing numerous bolts and not all the nuts are there...should i just go buy a bunch that fit at the hardware store...not making it original or show jeep, just a hunting vehicle.
