What battery size is recommended with starter 916461-12V? Starter is going in 1960 Willys Truck with the 6-226 engine.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
We typically use a Group 24 battery for 12 volts.

I ordered this starter for my willys 6-226 super hurricane with 130 tooth fly wheel and its not making contact with the fly wheel. It seems the bendix isn’t coming out for enough. Can you answer me on what I need to do. I paid a lot of money for this and it’s not working like it should.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:

You shouldn't have any interference and match pattern. Call and ask for Mike M. Happy to help.

I have a 1962 jeep fc 170 with a 226, will this starter work in that application?
