Im sure anything is possible but a cable may have trouble due to pressure required to move arm.

Yes, it will but the M38 used a dual action pump so you will have to replum your lines. You may have to rotate the diaphragm for clearance as well.

This is for fuel only. The dual actions have vacuum ports as well. Single action do not.

This doesn't have anything to do with the oil return line. This is a fuel pump.

Yes, I would say so. Also at start make sure to pump the pedal to get fuel flow going but not enough to flood.

Up, the main thing is that you put the lever against the camshaft correctly. It will only go one way.

You just pump it to prime it by hand. The handle is attached to the pump itself.
