Yes that would be an oil bath. But this is only for the 134 L engine. You can only find the one for the F head through a salvage yard.

If someone put an unoriginal motor in your M38 this 645368K-BRK should still work for you on the passenger side firewall.

WOW really feel ignorant here. Looking for an air cleaner for 53 M38A1 and just found about 1/4 of oil in the bottom of the air cleaner of the 53 I just purchased. Feeling stupid, I write this question. Is it supposed to be there? The carburetor has been replaced and the air intake system sits idle. carburetor just has a small 3-4 cleaner screwed on. Eventually I want to return that to original.

Yes it is a oil bath air cleaner. There should be a stamping on it for the proper fill level. That is the air cleaner.

Trying to clean the gunk out of my 1950 6-73 Willys jeepster. Does this canister come out or what? If not how do I get the dirt out of it.

The wire mesh wont come out. You would need to soak it in degreaser and hose it out really good then let dry.

Hello, I had to remove the gasket that seals the bottom oil bath pan to the Oil Bath Air Cleaner housing so that it could be powder coated. It fits in the groove between the two half's. Is there a gasket available to replace the one I had to remove? Thanks

My oil bath air cleaner has another opening at the top that has a pre filter mushroom cap on it, this is also where the fording air intake would attach if hooked up, correct? Do you sell these type of cleaners? I can't find the exact one in the catalog or on the web site. Also is there an inner element that needs serviced or do you just replace the whole system? Thanks for your time!

I have a early 46 Cj2a. An earlier question from someone about mounting was answered that this unit mounts directly to the firewall. I also find that brackets # 640948 driver side and #640947 passenger side are required to mount to the firewall.according to your listings. will this unit mount directly to the firewall or are the other 2 brackets also required?
