Where does the vent line from the fuel pickup on an M38 go?

I have your fuel pickup M38fuelpickup. I need to know what size the fitting is for the vent line. The original manual specs 1/8 pipe thread but a 1/8 NPT does not fit, it is to large to even start. I have also tried the nearest metric size with no luck. Thanks!

Your photos of the M38 pick up show two different filter types. Which one will I get if I order? It looks like they must work differently.

These work off of suction/gravity and voltage doesn't effect it.
