Questions & Answers
The Steering drag link and steering bellcrank are hitting the bottom of the oil pump on my 65 cj5 with 4 cyl "F" head. When I turn the wheel to the right the Steering drag link and steering bellcrank hit the oil pump at the point where the two are connected. Is this an alignment issue or tie rod issue or a non compatible part? Thanks!
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Sounds like your old drag link may be bent or your steering is very out of alignment. Email us some photos.

I bought one of these drag links to replace my worn one on a 1966 CJ5 with a V-6 225 engine. The original one measures 24 1/2" in length, the 646619 measures 25 1/2". the locations of the bends are in different areas on the link when I compare the new one to the old one. Even with this difference it looks like the ends will be in the same position to attach. So I am really more concerned with the difference in length and don't want to install, scratch it, not have it fit and not be able to return it. Plus I have it all taken a part and just ordered a bell crank repair kit. Thank you for the help

Hi, I need to acquire a new drag link for my '71 CJ-6, with the V6/225 engine. This part you have (item 646619) shows to be for only a CJ with a 4 cylinder. Is this drag link truly not applicable for my Jeep? If so, can you help me with how to find a replacement? My Jeep service manual shows that the part number would be 941186 (instead of the 646619, which shows to be for a CJ with a 4 cylinder). Help!!! Thanks, John
