The U shaped bracket allows it to bolt on to the frame.

It has a flush mounting surface so typically just under. It wouldn't interfere with your wipers.

Not sure exactly what you are asking. It is a flush mount bracket.

Questions: I have a '61 CJ 5 and recently acquired this mirror from you. Can you give me instructions on mounting? It doesn't match the holes in the frame and I don't see a good way to mount it without drilling new holes.

The bracket should just mount to the inside of the frame. Call us toll free. Im sure we can go over it with you.
