Questions: I am changing from a Solex Carb to a Carter on a 1957 CJ-5 (F head, 134 cuin.). The Solex has fittings on it to secure the throttle and choke cables and the Carter does not. Is there a separate bracket(s) to hold the cables for the Carter?
Question By: Sam Rundell on Mar 11 2015 12:00 AM
You should have a upper bracket on your Carter to hold the outer cable in place.

Questions: Are you saying that with one of these carbs, after installation, no idle adjustments have to be made because they are tuned already??
Question By: John Polacek on Dec 12 2012 12:00 AM
They are engine tested and tuned. However each engine is different due to timing and elevation differences so it is common to have to do alittle.
