Questions: There is a double groove pulley on the crankshaft of my 1949 CJ3a. The water pump is single pulley and so is the generator. There is nothing else requiring a belt. Can I just order a single groove crankshaft pulley? Thank you.
Question By: Weldon Clinard on Dec 30 2021 11:40 PM
Yes, single groove is what you should have on that vehicle.

They really should just slide right on. A tight slip fit. Sometimes you have to tap into place.

Questions: I have a1961 CJ5 with the double pulley. It appears that I only need a single pulley (belt groove) for water pump and generator. Can I use this with the stock setup? I plan to add a 12 volt alternator also. Thanks, Glenn
Question By: Glenn on Sep 10 2017 3:38 PM
Yes, you can switch to a single groove with no issue. It will also work with double as well.

Questions: Does this pulley have timing groove notch...? Does the shaft hole need to be reamed to fit ...?
Question By: Anonymous on Jan 23 2012 12:00 AM
You'll have to mark it once timed. The shaft hole should slide over without any major issues. We have not had any problems with this pulley.
