Yes, to install just cut the all rubber part of the seal. Put the slick in the center up position and wrap around the axle tube. The fill level is not that high. Do the same with the felt seal position wise. Put plates on - do not over torque. Make sure to grease knuckle ball and remove any hi spots.

We usually use 90 weight gear oil in the knuckles. Dont use synthetic. It tends to leak.

Yes, this is a better seal than original. It has the plates, felt and large rubber washer to make the seal.
