Will this fit a Dana 20?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
No, sorry it is only for D18.

Is this the proper gear for a 67 cj5 with v6 225? Thanks!

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, for your D18 transfer case.

Do you have this in 13 tooth?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Sorry, we do not.

I swapped my 5:38 axles for 4:27. The speedometer is now about 20% low. Using original 31" tires with T18 transfer case. What would be the new gearset needed. Is it available? Mike

GK:
My 57 Wagon is all original with 4.27, has a 19 tooth driven gear and is accurate. My 62 Wagon has 3.54 axles and a 17 tooth driven gear original. Both have the original T90 trans and spicer 19 transfercase
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Sorry, a different drive/driven gear for your speedometer isnt available. Good news is you'll never get a speeding ticket in a Willys.

If fluid is leaking out of the speedometer cable and this housing area for 47 willys cj, how does replacing this seal? Are there o-rings, etc built in?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
There really is no seal there. So either the transfer case is over filled or your missing/clogged the vent part number: A934 due to pressure build up.

What size socket do I need to remove the old set up? The old speedo cable broke inside and I need to get it out.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
I would just use a hex head wrench and it will screw off the housing.

I wanted to know if you sale just the side bushing.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Sorry, we can only get these as complete kits.

I have a gear out of the ear capo and early 41-43 jeep. it has only 14 splines on the gear not 15. are there two gears

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, that is correct. This will work for you.

Will this gear accept a ‘universal’ speedometer cable? I changed speedometers (equus) and the original cable won’t connect to the new gauge.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
As long as the speedometer cable is designed the same way the 643797 cable that originally was used.

‘52 m38. Current gear has a half moon shaped shim to hold the cable end. This gear appears to have a square hole to accept the cable end........ is that the case?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, see MSPEEDOCABLE part number. You can see the tab on the inner cable.

I want to be sure about this. This gear set WILL fit in my M38a1 transfer case and allow me to use a Civilian speedometer?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Call and as for Mike M. I can confirm this.

Where the side bushing screws into the transfer case, should there be an O-ring or washer of some type to prevent oil from seeping out?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
You could use some permatex if you wanted.

Do I need product number A1511 also if I purchase this? I disconnected the cable today and spun the tab. The needle on the speedometer flicked up in relation to me spinning the tab. I removed the insert where the cable connects and tried pulling the gear out. It was loose but didn't come out. I decided not to force things at that time. I just want to make sure I'm buying everything I need to replace the internals of the speedometer system at the transfer case. With my luck it's probably just the cable itself. HA

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, they mate to each other to turn your speedometer.

Hi, my 66 cj5 v6 has had the single lever transfer replaced by a twin stick by the previous owner. when diagnosing why the speedo did not work I found that the driven gear that exits the T/C is round with a slot in it like the M38A1 . Will this gear allow me to use the stock speedo cable with the square inner cable? Thanks in advance.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
This would allow you to use 643797 original cable.

I have 1962 willys pick up with dana 18 t/c. i went from stock height tire to a 285/75-16 or 33". what t/c speedo gear would i need to get to fix this speedo cal? Thank you

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
I don't think there will be much you can do about your speedometer being off. There really are not many options on the speedometer drive / driven gears. Only what is original is available.
