my 63 cj5 has two different hubs on the front. one looks like this one, the other has 3 screws holding the drum to the hub. I bought a rebuild kit that says it is for this year cj5 and it came with the drums with the 3 extra holes for the screws. if new studs are pressed in can I use these drums or do I need to buy different hubs with the screw provision? the bearings seem to be the same, all 4 of them LM501310

Depends on your vehicle. If you have an MB/GPW its front and rear. See the fits under the item description. Other Willys take 811351 or 912647 for the rear depending what they have.

I am finding out that some early hubs require a different OD race. From what i am reading the earlier ones were bigger but later ones were smaller while keeping the ID for the same bearings and spindle. Which ones are these?

Hi, Hope you all are well. I pulled the brakes off of my 56 3b. The driver side had the drum on the outside of the hub over the studs. The passenger side had the drum on the inside of the hub captured by the studs. What's the difference. I want to put it back together the same on both sides and want to order parts. thanks, Mike

Hi Gang, hope you all are doing well. My question is weather or not my 48 2a is supposed to have the wheel hub outside like it is or inside like the parts diagram?

I have a 1959 Willy's pick up with the number 25 stamped in the front axle case. My hub looks like the picture for the Dana 27 front axle hub. Which one do I buy?

In 1959 you would have the Dana 25 front end. Double check your wheel bearings. Email mike@kaiserwillys.com your numbers and I can ID. Either way this hub is correct for both.

The wheel hubs come with a waxy coating on them. What is this, and does it need to be removed? I'm also having issues getting my new lug bolts to pull through the hub after easily pulling them through the drum. Any tips?

That is a rust preventative coating. Remove it when painting. You need to use a hydraulic press to remove and install the lug bolts.

Can you draw the hub and brake drum together with the lug nuts or is it a press fit? Thanks!

I have a 1948 Jeepster and I broke off all 5 lug bolts, not realizing it is a left hand turn. Do I have to buy the whole piece, or is there a way to take off the old bolts? I tried popping them out with a hammer but that wasn't working.

If you studs broke you will need to drive them out with a hydraulic press. I would never beat on your hub, it can bend it.

I need a new front hub. Are the races already pressed into the hub, or do those need to be order in addition? If I need to also order races, what is the part number?

The races are separate. The bearing for this front hub are part numbers: 52943 & 52942
