Mike, we spoke earlier today. If I buy A11840 to plug the back of the engine block, do I need to buy a plug for the valve opening in the water pump?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, that would be your bypass then for your heater.

Is it ok to plug these ports or is circulation through them critical to engine cooling? If they're ok to plug, what is the thread count and diameter for the brass plug?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
You can certainly plug these off if they are not used. It is half inch but unsure on thread.

The water pump I have on my F134 engine has two ports one that goes to the engine and one that looks like it goes to the heater. Will this part work in both holes as well as the engine block?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
This fitting is for the water pump and the engine block not the heater. Thanks

Hi Mike, I removed the heater in my 59 CJ5. Can I just screw a plug into the block where the heater hose was connected? If so, do you have the plug? Thanks, Mike

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, you can plug that. It is a standard pipe plug.

On my '46 cj-2a flathead, the manual shut off valve is on the top of water pump and my bypass hose fitting is a 90 degree located on top corner of head. Is that correct?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
You can do it either way. I usually put the manual shut off on the head because there is more room there.

Putting heater in 1948 Willys overland 4-134 go-devil. Have lower heater outlet hooked to right side of water pump. Upper outlet on heater is hooked to left rear engine head. The engine pressurizes(spits out fluid) hooked up this way. If you bypass the heater, it runs fine. What is hooked up wrong?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
As it states, they are for the 4 cylinder only.
Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
If I'm understand it correctly you may just need to flip flop the hoses on your heater connection and the flow will be correct from engine thru heater.

where do these fit in the block?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Depends on your motor. There is typically a port at the rear top of the head.

My 1961 CJ5 has a double ended threaded pipe screwed into the front of the cylinder head to connect the bypass hose to. Can I remove the threaded pipe and replace it with this? Engine is the F Head.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, this should fit into your head there as well as the water pump.
