Questions: Would a 1962 6-226 engine have a rope or neoprene rear main seal? What year did Willys switch over from rope to neoprene, or visa versa?

By that year they would have a neoprene rear main seal. Typically 1958 they switched over.

The only way to be sure is to do a visual inspection.

Questions: Can I replace a rope seal with a neoprene in my 57 Jeep FC-170? I think it has a rope seal now.

If you have rope you have to stick with rope. If you have neoprene you have to stick with neoprene. We have both seals.

Questions: Do you know if the 226 engine used in Jeeps are the same used in the older Kaiser/Frazer cars. Because I'm looking for gaskets.

Yes the are pretty much the same except for the oil pan gasket. But it can be cut to fit.
