I have a son cosmetically restoring a Vietnam Jeep for a VA Home in Stony Brook NY. It is his Eagle project. Is there any room in the price to help him with his budget. Any help would be greatly appreciated

No, only in spray cans and gallons.

Should I use flat or semi gloss olive drab paint on my 1947 Cj2a jeep?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
It is up to you - neither were used as a color on the CJ2A

does this paint need hardener?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
No need to use a hardener.

is the flat paint a different shade than the semi gloss . i bought the semi gloss and it is on the brown side Is the flat more of a green

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Give us a call and we can send you some sample cards. The semi gloss has a darker deeper color. The flat is more the traditional world war 2 looking olive drab green.

i'm looking for olive drab no.4 (used during 1950-56) lusterless paint, does anyone know where a can buy it in the gallon?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Not really sure what you mean, if you give us a call we can try to help you out.

I have a 1943 Jeep. Much of the engine is not painted and rusty even though it is indoors, because of condensation. Is your olive drab green flat paint the proper paint?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, it is the proper paint originally used. Keep in mind before painting anything you have to prep the surface and properly prime it as well. Thanks!

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
You probably could, but nothing is required.

How many colors do you have in this paint

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
The olive drab flat is its own color.

Can I get this paint shade in spray cans?

Hi . I am in New Zealand and cannot therefore import paint. . Would you be able to post test sample color sheets so as I can take it to a local paint shop to color match my paint to it for my MB . Cheers John

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
We can mail you samples. Email mike@kaiserwillys.com

Thinking about using your paint for primer and top coat with a gun and compressor, then applying camo stripes with black Rustoleum rattle cans, then Kaiser Willy's clear coat. Do you know if that would that bond and cure ok? I've never used alkyd enamel and I'm concerned the black might flake off or bubble. Wish y'all made compatible black rattle cans.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
We dont sell a clear coat. if you can please email mike@kaiserwillys.com and we can help further.

do you guys ship to Canada

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
We sure do. Email me what you're looking for and your full address and I can work a quote up for you - mike@kaiserwillys.com. Thanks

Hi is there anyway you could mix and sell a dessert tan paint? Or is that something I should get at the hardware store?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
That is something you will have to have mixed there locally.

Can this be used on aluminum? I'm interested in using in on an aluminum boat.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
I would think as long as you properly prime the metal it would, but have not personally used it directly on aluminum.

Does this require a top coat or clear coat?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
No, they didnt originally use but you can if you wanted to.

Do you carry Harvest tan for a 1946 cj2a? Thanks.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
That paint you have to mix there locally.

Can this paint be cleared ?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Not sure what you are asking. Please call us toll free or email mike@kaiserwillys.com and we can try to help.

Do you sell a compatible primer for this paint?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
That is a local paint shop item. A good automotive primer is what we use.

Does this paint require hardner?

Willys Tech:
It does not require a hardener. It was never used originally.

Can it export to Japan?

Willys Tech:
Sorry this can only be shipped in the 48 States ground.

How much paint would you need to paint a cj3a in gallons?

John Ciofalo:
I just finished a CJ2a - painting just the body, inside and out, to include one coat in the wheel wells, and engine compartment (including one coat on the under side of the hood), but not the chassis, windshield frame, or the dash. Prepped with a dk. green (almost OD) primer to help coverage and to help hide any paint missed on backside of brackets, etc. The windshield, wheels, and dash had been previously finished with the matching spray can OD paint offered here. I thinned for spraying, 3 parts paint to 1 part slow reducer (I'm in dry Arizona), and did 2 full (but not real wet, as I have a habit of running paint) coats in a 75 degree garage - and I consumed just about a half gallon of this paint. I would estimate that even adding the dash and windshield, and shooting wetter than I do, a single gallon would easily spray an entire CJ3a body.
