Is this left hand or right hand drive?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
This is for LH drive vehicles

Is this the Worm gear shaft and outer tube?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
The column is part number: 641251

Does the shaft have the exit hole in the side for the horn wire? For the CJ-2a that use the brush and brass ring instead of the horn wire tube?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, that is correct. It will.

I purchased this Gear Box tube and worm gear for my early CJ2A. Mine also has the horn ring that mounts on this shaft. I purchased the brass horn ring from you also. The shaft is too large in diameter for the brass and plastic to fit?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
The rubber lined brass horn contact (A302 &A302B) are used together. The bushing must slide down the shaft. It is a very tight fit. We usually take a bit off the rubber and grease to get it to slide down.

Does Kaiser sell a replacement for the "lower cover and horn wire tube"? If not, would welding on a new tube be the easiest solution? My tube is about 1 inch long and looks like it was sheared/cut off in the case, while your video shows it to be 18-24 inches long.

Willys Tech:
Please email mike@kaiserwillys.com your vehicle information and we can help you out with this.

Where can I get the retaining clips for the worm bearings that you show in the video? All the standard e-clips I have found seem to large OD to fit in the housing and upper cover clearance holes, and retaining rings are too small to hold well.

Willys Tech:
They really are not necessary. When loading the ball bearing just use heavy duty axle grease to keep them in place. Then once the worm gear is inserted it will hold them in position.

Is there some sort of seal on the bottom of the gearbox where the bearing on the bottom of this steering rods sits?

Willys Tech:
No they just used a freeze plug there.

the description says rod with worm gear and tube but the pic only shows steering rod with worm gear but no tube. is outer tube included?

Willys Tech:
The tube is the long shaft shown in the photo. The outer steering column tube is part number: 914054

Did the 1941 Willys MB Slat have the brass horn bushing this?

Willys Tech:
They used alittle different set up on the early early ones...most people convert over to this.

Does this have the brass horn bushing on it?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Its different on a DJ. Please email mike@Kaiserwillys.com to help.
Willys Tech:
No, Its part number: A302B You also may want to order A302 as well if you need the contact on the outer steering column.
