Will this single action pump work on a M38?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, but you wouldn't want to use the big thick spacer they used on the M38/A1 pumps.

Is there a fuel filter mesh or something similar inside the glass bowl? The pump that I have now seems to have one but I don`t see any filter on the website pictures.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes it does have a mesh screen.

I bought your Solex carb (Part # 923806) several years ago and it worked fine with this fuel pump. The carb needed to be replaced so I bought the exact same Solex carb and this fuel pump a week ago from you and the solex carb has a new sticker on it saying I have to put a pressure regulator on it with less than 4.5 psi. How much pressure does this fuel pump produce?? I didn't have to regulate the fuel with the exact same parts several years ago. Do I really have to buy another part now? Or does this fuel pump only put out 4.5 psi?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
It is less than that and we also sell a fuel pump spacer that they originally used as well that helps regulate pressure too.

Hi - this sounds like a dumb question but I can’t seem to find the answer anywhere. My fuel pump was disconnected when I got my 1962 3J-B and I’m not sure which side of this single action pump is the intake and which side is the outlet - can you help please?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
The inlet is the forward most hole. The outlet is the opposite side.

When installing the fuel pump with the laminated cam arm need to hook under a cam or does it rest on top of it.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
The bowl goes up and the lobe of the cam pushes the arm up.

I’ve seen videos installing the single action glass bowl fuel pump and none show using a spacer. Are spacers required? Thanks Jeff

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Alot of Willys had them to cut fuel pressure.

Does this fuel pump come with the gasket?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
It sure does. Thanks

fuel pump doesn`t fill up w/fuel but still runs. fuel barley over bottom port.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, that is normal and how designed.

Hey Mike I bought a new single action fuel pump and it has a very fine crack in the glass bowl. I did not notice it a first until it got under pressure and began to leak. This is the divided two section bowl. Can I get a replacement? I didn’t see one online! Thanks, Dave

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
We can fix you up and get you a replacement. Please email mike@kaiserwillys.com to help out.

48 CJ-2A, can I buy just the glass bowl gasket for my fuel pump? Thanks Mike

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
115656 is the part number

Which of the threaded holes can I use for my heater core and what is the thread size and pitch of the hole I will be using?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
This is a fuel pump, it wouldn't have anything to do with your heater. Thanks!

i have 1948 jeep truck. i changed the dual action fuel pump to a single action. does it require a spacer or is it ok to go right on

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, people use single action pumps all the time.

Do these fuel pumps run in a specific direction? The one on my cj5 looks like it's hooked up to flow away from the water pump side and then loops around the lower radiator hose and reconnects to the original steel fuel line.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Email mike@kaiserwillys.com some pictures of your set up and we can help.

Does your fuel pumps handle ethanol gasoline?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, but I would available ethanol fuel if you can since it collects moisture.

Does the fuel pump come with a new gasket?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, that is correct.

I have a 1952 Willys Jeep Truck. I recently converted to 12 Volt. I was wondering about the fuel pump. The current one i have was vacuum to run the wipers. Do you have one that doesn't have the Vacuum? Please let me know.

WIllys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, this pump will work for just fuel on your 4-134 engine. You may just have to rotate the top a bit for clearance for your inlet fitting.

I purchased a glass topped fuel pump for my 51 M38 a couple months ago. I can’t seem to get it to work consistently, It will bubble and fill sometimes, other times it won’t fill at all? Then it will work perfectly for about a day and then out out nowhere just quit pumping altogether? The M38 floods all the time and is difficult to start. It has a brand new fuel tank, pick up, fuel lines and the Carter YS has been rebuilt, I believe the inconsistent running problem has to do with that fuel pump. The original was a two stage. I want to replace the glass top with the very best fuel pump for the M38. Which one would you recommend as the best and most dependable? Thanks! –Larry Johannes

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
If it sits up for a long time fuel tends to drain out of the carb. They never will fill up all the way. I would also take the diaphram off and check for any tears and debris that may have gotten into fuel pump from tank as well. Also make sure your fuel lines are away from a heat source.

I have a 52 CJ3A with an 134L motor. I replaced the leaking fuel pump with a 119238 single action replacement. When we put it in my buddies thought it was wrong that the glass bowl was up instead of down. That, however is the only way it would go in. Since that time a few months ago the jeep has been starting very hard and running terrible uphill or with any load. A local mechanic said "I guarantee that it is upside down and that is the reason it is running badly". How should it be installed? Do I have the wrong fuel pump? Also, I did not use a spacer. Should I get one and add it? Thanks! Ray

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
It cannot be installed with glass down. The camshaft lobe pushes the arm up. Give me a call toll free. Happy to try to help you trouble shoot what all is going on with your Willys.
