Will this work with crown automotive, axles?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, as long as they are the spicer u joint style axles.

What's the difference with the bushing that is installed and the one sold separately? If I have to remove the one that is installed

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
We include a bushing with each spindle we sell because they are pressed in during manufacturing and sometimes they need to be replaced with a new one.

Are these intended for use with old fashioned swedged lugs or can more normal, easily removed lugs be used.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
They originally used swedged lugs and is what most people do.

If I have to remove the brass bushing. Which one do I put in it?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Typically 649783

Are these spindles new?? or nice used??

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
These are new.

do they make shims for the spindle to knuckle mounting area ,I put the new axle shafts in and there is zero end play

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
No not spindle to knuckle. I do have them at the drive flange part number A862

Mike, do you have a part number for the paper gasket that goes between the spindle and the steering knuckle?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
That i would use some sealant on.

I need to mount a large ships wheel (4 foot diameter, 60 lbs) to a concrete fireplace and this spindle looks ideal. What is the diameter of the shaft? The ship wheel bore is 1.500, +/- 0.010. I am a machinist so I can open wheel bore if necessary.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Call us toll free and we can see what you need and we can help.

The spindle shown appears to come with the brass bushing installed. Is this a correct assumption?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
yes, that is correct.

I have a Dana 41 semi float rear diff would like to turn into full float is it possible and would these spindles fit on the 6 holes backing plate. and what about a one piece axle to fit the star wheels.in original diff carriage ?? Regards Ian thanking you

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Sorry, I really don't believe you can do this on the Dana 41 rear end used in a CJ-2A. You would have to swap it out completely with something else.

Is there supposed to be a paper seal between this part and part number 805783 (knuckle)...thanks, Curt

Willys Tech:
We can now get them in NEW.

I got a spindle bushing from you and i was wandering how tight the axle is supposed to be. I installed the new bushing and I cant turn it with my bare hands, did I do something wrong? Or is it supposed to be tight like that?

Willys Tech:
Rotate the wheel and tighten the adjusting nut until the wheel binds while on jacks. Then back off nut about one-sith turn or more if necessary making sure that the wheel rotates freely without sidewise shake.

Do these spindles have scored surfaces or wear on the outside of the shaft from previous use?

Willys Tech:
No we try to only ship out good used one.
