I have a 1956 Willys jeep CJ-5, with a 129 tooth flywheel, my system has been updated to 12V. The old starter is a MCH 6207, which I am not convinced was the right fit, do to the condition of the old flywheel. Will the item #925520-12V, work for my application?

Willys Tech:
This is the proper part number for your Willys with the MCH 6207

I have a 1957 Willys CJ-5 that has a 6 volt system. Will this New starter work on it without changing the flywheel or modifying too much if I convert it to 12 volt?

Yes that is correct. You must be 12 volt to work. Just confirm your old starter numbers and you are all set.

My old starter had an external solenoid; with this new one can I do away with the external solenoid?
