Where is the installation of the filter? Near the pump or near the WO? Do I need a connector between filter with pump or WO?

Question about the fuel line(s); I see the "L" shaped fuel line in the photo. Does that connect to the fuel pump, then to the filter? Also; to use this filter, I would need to make up an addition fuel line "segment" to go from the filter to the carb, correct?

Does the ceramic fuel filters have a rubber gasket that fits on top of the bowl?

I do believe it is a cork gasket but will check.
