Other than the 6 or 5 hole sending unit is there any other physical differences between Part # 640685 and Part # 911895. I need a tank for my 64 3B (currently a 5 hole and the filler doesn't line up with the body hole) and I will be installing the single speedometer cluster.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
There is also a neck orientation difference.

Mike, I have a 66 CJ5 , the fuel tank has 2 bottom connections 1 being a convex drain 1/4 the other is a 1/4 supply that is stopped up some how??,can I use the drain for supply, there is a 1/8 steel line going to the top of the tank near the fill port from the fuel filter at the eng,V6 225. Tom

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
The one would be a 1/4" fuel line connection and the other is just a drain plug for emptying the tank.

Hello, On item #911895, what are the dimensions on this fuel tank? Thanks!!

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
They are just like original. Approx: 25 x 18-3/4 x 8-1/4

will this tank fit in the m38, ie: is the the filler neck in the same location as m38, I realize the CJ 2A filler neck is not correct size for M38, but want to save money and do not need original style tank

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, this will mount for you. But the filler neck will be smaller than the M38.

I'm running my fuel out the top, so I bought a 1/4" flared fitting to use as a plug on the flared fitting on the bottom of the tank. But, the 1/4 flare won't go over the stub of pipe that's in the fitting. Is it some special kind of flare?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Please email mike@kaiserwillys.com a picture of what all you have going on.We can see what tank you have and go from there.

Can you confirm how many pounds the unit is?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
10.5 like original

Is the Fitting on the bottom of the tank located at approximately 5 1/8 inches and 16 inches from the edges of the tank? Thanks

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, that is correct. Thanks

What is the fitting connection on the bottom of the fuel tank? It appears to be a flared female fitting, close to 1/8" NPT in diameter, but not that.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, the fitting is on the bottom of the tank and is 1/4" fuel line - 1/4 flare nut fitting . Thanks
