Hi Mike, Does this frame require any additional bracing? What keeps them from moving forward / aft? I noticed one picture with 6 pieces, and another picture with 8 pieces, (and also the install pdf) so I'm trying to understand what comes with this kit and how the canvas top holds it all together. Thank you! Dan

They are just like original for the original tops used. They fit right into the original brackets on the body.

does this top kit have the channel for the front of the top to slide in to ?

The one kit has the rods with it. They are approx the same thickness yes.

Is this for what is called a 'summer top'? And which hardware would attach it to tub? Do you carry the canvas that would go with this frame?

How much weight can these bars hold? Will they bend if there was a strong wind? Also i am looking to carry a surfboard on top of them, will it hold a longboard? Thanks, You guys ROCK!

I think it would be fine as long as you don't go fast. They are made like original and were never designed to function as a rack however.
