New Timing Gear Oil Jet

This is the jet nozzle that sprays oil under pressure inside your front timing cover.

This is the .040 oil hole one and NOT the .070

This is the later jet that was used when Willys determined the larger size port was not delivering adequate lubrication to the timing.

USA made.

ow do you tell the difference between the 040 and the 070 timing gear oil jet?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
The port oil size make the difference.

Is there any reason I can't plug the .070 hole and drill a .040 hole in it's place?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
We do not advise making those sort of modifications.

The engineers at Willys became concerned about the No. 1 main bearing being starved of oil; their solution was to decrease this orifice size to bump the pressure and delivery to that bearing. Some say unnecessary, some say an needed upgrade.

This is the later one. IE smaller hole - more pressure. This is the preferred jet by most people.
