Are the springs in the cj5 1968 ( front axle) have a direction itself or they are symmetrical? Meaning each eye to center is the same ? Thank you

Sorry if this is an obvious question, but we are talking about measuring center-to-center of the eyes, correct? When measuring what I have, they measure more like 38 3/8" center-to-center. Maybe that is close enough? Thank you.
