Is there an easy way to get this to slide in with the glass? It seems to be a really tight fit on my CJ2A windshield. I even broke a new piece of glass trying to get it in.

I'm conserving as much of my early 1946 CJ-2A as possible. The inner (glass) frame will need lots of work, but it can be saved. I have the new weather seals for inner and outer frames from you folks. My question is about the glass-to-frame seal. Is it recommended to cut a V notch in the seal where it turns the corner of the glass? I saw no indication of this in the old seal, but I think this is the original glass and I don't want to risk damage. And yes, there was lots of silicone to remove.

Yes you can do that or just cut it clean and make it into four strips.

I don't understand the other answer. There are two panes of glass. Do I need one of these weather seals for each pane of glass? Are they the seals that go around the glass itself and then insert (with the glass)into the inner frame?
