My sector shaft oil seal has one edge more rigid than the other. The side that is more flexible has a deeper interior groove. Which way is it installed. Thank you

You want the flush part of the metal housing of seal to go towards the outside.
You want the flush part of the metal housing of seal to go towards the outside.
For the sector shaft seal, does the rubber side of the seal face into the steering box or face out of the steering box. the seal was pretty broken down when taken out so I couldn't tell which side goes where ......thanks
