Do you have to take the shift tower off and insert the new rubber boot from the inside out or can this be tucked into the tower from the top?

Do you have this boot as a friction fit? My M38A1 has no mounting holes or clamp plate.

I would like to buy vinyl seatcovers (front and back, bottom and top) for my M-38. The cushions are in good shape and do not need to be replaced. Is it possible to buy just the covers without the cushions?
