well the grease weep holes on my d-44 were plugged causing me to push grease into the outer grease protector. I noticed the protector was distorted from someone crank ing down the 3/8 bolts . question, Can i install another bearing retainer to the outside to spread the load and stop the distortion ? I may fab a pair from 1/8 inch plate. thanks Scott

Can the rear outer grease protector be reused or is it a needs to be replaced part?

If it is flat and in good condition it is a reusable part.
