About How many Hours does it take to install the Blinker on a CJ-5 with stock steering column and stock wiring ?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Depends on your skill set. You should be able to get it installed in about an hour.

If the blue wire on the turn signal switch witing is a ground wire and connects to the "P" terminal wire coming from the flasher and the housing is plastic, then how does it ground? I haven't been able to get the red indicator light to light up when I pull the lever to turn right or left. What am I missing? Thank you for your time and help.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Please give us a call and ask for Jason. We can help you.

With the turn signal switch in neither left or right position (or in "off" position) do the front and rear lights stay on like running lights?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Depending on how you have wired into your headlight control switch they should stay on.

Will this work on 12 volts with a bulb change? The description says there is a built in flasher but the wiring diagram shows a remote flasher. Will I need to purchase a separate flasher and socket?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes these will work on both 6 or 12 volt.

What are the length of the wire in this kit? Is there a plug in for the flasher?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Approx a foot and half but will need to measure.

I connect up the turn signal to my 6 volt system per the instructions and the voltage out to the light is only 4.6 volts which will not power the light, When I measured the voltage to my brake light it is right around 6.4 volts. The same bulb works on the brake light but not on the turn signal. Also I see 6.4 volts out of the flasher but it does not flash, it is a steady 6.4 volts.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Double check for a weak ground. Please email and we can try to help out as well.

Does the brake light turn off on signal direction side with this signal direction kit,or are other relays required

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Really you just have a flasher you wire in. We have both 6 or 12 volt and socket if you need it.

What does the external flasher do? Does it actually cause the "blinking" of the tail lights, or/and does ti make the indicator lights on the instrument cluster flash. I have this unit ready to install '61 CJ-3B. There is an old flasher and plug screwed to the firewall, but it is unusable.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Yes, that causes the to flash. You will need to wire one it depending if your 6 or 12 volt.

Does this unit turn off signal light automatically with friction wheel on steering wheel or column or do you have to manually turn off?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Manual turn off.

At what amp should this unit be fused?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
The bulbs you use will determine the amps. If you have a 6 volt system, the amp would run 20-30 but if you have a 12 volt system, the amps would run 10-20. Thanks

Does this engine come with: Oil pump Fuel pump Carburetor Distributor Flywheel / Ring Gear Water pump Thermostat and Housing Alternator or Generator Water pump / Crankshaft Pulleys Thanks, Dave

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Please call us toll free. We can go over current options available for the 4-134 engine.

Does this unit have a built in flasher relay or does an external separate flasher relay have to be purchased with a socket and harness?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
You need to get a flasher part number: 938899 (12volt) or 118699 (6 volt) we also sell the socket to wire it in part number: A1363-A.

Will this kit work on a 24 Volt system?

Willys Jeep parts tech:
This is for 6 or 12 volt only. Try part number: 947345 for 24 volt

Is this 12 volt?

Willys Tech:
This works on both 6 volt and 12 volt.
