I have noticed that when I put my 1951 M38 on a vehicle lift, and the rear suspension is in full droop, that there is interference between the flange and the front U-joint on the rear driveshaft. It appears that at full droop (stock suspension and all new U-joints) the rear axle drops to the point that the drive shaft angle exceeds the design limits for the forward U-joint on the prop shaft. Is this normal or is there something wrong? The interference is slight so I am tempted to grind some material off of the flange.

Your leaf springs are probably lost all their arch and are worn. Email us some photos and we can hlep.

My Jeep (CJ2-A) has a home-built rear driveshaft that is shot. It is ~18.5” center-to-center with the vehicle ready to go. Is this the correct shaft for that in-service length? Everything else seems to be a good match.

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
This is the correct driveshaft as long as you are not lifted.

Will this work with 2.5" lift?

Willys Jeep Parts Tech:
Sorry, this is intended for stock suspension.
