Is the switch waterproof? I want to know if I need to baby the switch in the rain.

Hi, do I need to purchase the signal flasher plug socket A1363-A in order to wire up to a new 12V harness w/ turn signal for a 1948 CJ2A? What about the flasher 938899? And what is the difference between the A1363-A signal socket and the Headlamp socket A1363, length of wire or?
