IS THIS IGNITION SWITCH ALS USED FOR THE ORIGINAL 6 VOLT SYSTEM

I'm done with my foot switch in my CJ3A 1951. Can I buy one of these to bypass that foot switch and the piece that bolts on to the starter.

I am converting to 12 v, and buying my starter and alternator from you for my CJ3A. Does this keyed switch also replace the need for the foot switch (or I still can use a foot switch if want to do so)? Thanks Jim
